Emerging Issues Forum

“Prevention’s Role in Integrated Health” –The theme of last year’s PITA conference focused on health reform and its impact on the scope of prevention practice.  This year’s PITA V emerging issue focus is Integrated Care as a modality impacting prevention agencies and professionals through continued health reform, waiver changes, and best practice models. 


Join prevention professionals from across the state during this years networking conference to learn more about prevention integrated care strategies including an overview of integrated care in NC, SBIRT, motivational interviewing, co-locating options, and communicating about prevention to primary care personnel.  Conference topics will also include environmental strategies, alcohol density, and other NCSAPPB requirements for prevention consultant certification.

Conference Fees:  The total fee for conference attendance is $30 for persons representing member organizations and $50 for persons representing non-member organizations. Included in the conference, is lunch on Monday and breakfast and lunch on Tuesday. 

Hotel:  A block of rooms is reserved at Courtyard by Marriott on Wilson Drive (336-585-1888).  The cost is $79/room + tax by the deadline of May 20th.

Credits:  Up to 11 credit hours are requested and pending approval from NCSAPPB.
