CADCA is working with Abt Associates to develop a special leadership institute for coalition prevention professionals. The School For Prevention Leadership is sponsored by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration through its Partners for Recovery (PFR) Initiative. This 6-7 month experiential training will help newer/mid-level coalition professionals learn leadership skills, including transformational leadership, and also prepare you for how our field will be impacted by health care reform. Specifically, the training is designed to build your skill/knowledge as prevention leaders so that you can move a policy agenda at the local level to promote population-level health strategies and systems change for substance abuse prevention.
Costs for this program are covered for participants, including travel, lodging and per diem for meals.
There is a very simple application to complete. The due date is September Friday, September 02, 2011, and detailed instructions are provided in the application. Please feel free to contact Evelyn Yang (email@example.com) with any questions you have.
